CTR Pistons in 92gsr?
Im thinking about getting some CTR pistons in my 92GSR B17a1.. do the pistons fit right in? any modifying have to be done? also do you think id be better off buying a set of skunk2 stage 2 cams w/ dual springs and titanuim retainers? or would i be better off just getting a ctr intake cam? any kind of advice would be great
im trying to shoot for arround 200 hp to the ground all motor. Thanks!

the ctr pistons are great for the b17a, they will give you 11.36:1. They will require some mods however. You have to shave your rods approx 1mm on each side. This is a simple mod and any machine shop can do it. It won't hurt the strength of the rods either, so don't worry about that.
like the other guy said, you're not going to make 200whp with the ctr pistons, you won't even get 200whp with ctr pistons AND the skunk2 cams. Its gonna take quite a lot to get your b17a to 200whp. But the ctr pistons are a good start. Get those, some good cams (skunk2 stage 2 would be a minimum i'd say), headwork, good intake, itr intake manifold, good header, and good exhaust and some more mods.....and of course tuning.

How hard would you say it is to put them in? so other than the fact of shaving the rods 1mm on each side, is it just a drop in modification? ive decided on the Skunk2 stage 2 cams, Titanuim retainers and dual springs... and this may be a dumb question but is it safe to take the shaved rods up to 9,000 rpm? Thanks.
