i had them in my ooooold b16. no problems on 92+ octane. head was milled minimally. no pings, had remapped ecu with nasty fuel curve though.

no, the lack of displacement in a B16 makes it fairly safe. The CR is much higher in 1.8's and plenty of people are using that setup with relative ease.

just to be more accurate, it is not the displacement per say, it is the relatively small bore that allows for high CR on B series. and very good chamber design.

not a problem whatsoever....good choice, but don't forget the milling on rod end so you will fit (about 1 mm total taken off width) piston.

Yes just one millimeter off both sides. But I will say that if you are planning on running a Spoon 2 layer head gasket you might want to reconsider. A lot of people have been blowing them, the Mugen piece seems to work a little better. Either way good luck man...sounds like you have a really nice setup on the way.

Katman, completely OT, but i have to ask, due to the fact that i anticipate the reopening of your site for a while, i trace back the pictures you post to their respective parent directories . the questions is, how the hell do you keep your engines so damn clean?!

i guess the pics are decieving for some of our engine bay pics. Just wipe it down with a rag & cleaner...that's about it.
