I have a 89 CRX SI. Car starts up but when u hit the throttle sounds like the car just chokes and dies. There are certain times that the car sounds like it wants to backfire through the intake filter. I ran a compression check and it held at 150-200 psi range in all 4 cylinders. The car doesnt have a knock sensor that is connected to it, so i was just curious if that could be the demize of the car? Everything is OBD0. If anyone is able to help me out it would be great.

 

throwing any codes?
check your distributor. my ls/v was doing the same thing. whenever i would hit the throttle, the light on the ecu would come on and run like ****. bought a new distributor and works fine now.

 

Yea its throwing codes while its just sitting and idling as well.
