Creaking Tranny!!!

Creaking Tranny!!!
I've got an 88 Civic with a B16A/S1 combo.
Just recently, It's begun to sometimes make a horrible groaning noise when I shift from 2 to 3, and I'm slightly lugging the engine. However, when I beat on it and drive normally, it's fine! WTF!I don't know if this is the clutch self-immolating or what. It's a brand new ACT Heavy Duty, Just broken in. Took it to the strip last friday, and the creaking noise started on Sunday, I guess it was. Anyone have any guesses??
