Default Crazy Idle and Stalling

Ok, for the past week or so my car has been idling strange, when i start it up it runs and idles fine but if I drive for about 10-20 mins then stop at a stop light or park it will jump from 1100 to about 300, no CEL, doesn't sputter or smoke just idles down then up fast. Tonight as I was driving home from school I was coming up to a red light, put my foot on the clutch took it out of 3rd and started to downshift when all of sudden the tach goes from about 2500 to 200 then back up then so on this time I had a CEL. So I made an *** of myself and pushed my car to a side street popped the hood, check all connections and so on, everything seemed ok. So as I dial my moms cell phone number to have her come get me my cell dies, great! that topped off my already shitty night. So I try to start my car again, turn the key fires right up for about 2 seconds then dies. CEL light was on Now its just pissing me off some more, after screaming a few choice words at my car I turn the key and it starts right up, this time there is NO CEL and I quickly drive off trying to get as much speed so if it dies again I will have enough to coast into a parking lot or something, the car made it all the way back to my house with no probs, this was about a three mile drive. I pulled in my parking spot shut the car off, tried to start it again, fired right up. I cant figure out what could possible be wrong here and I cant check the code because the CEL is not on anymore, unless it is stored in the ECU and just dosent light up now. Any one have suggestions on what could be wrong?
THANKS

IT COULD BE ALOT OF THINGS BUT I WOULD START W/ CHECKING THE IAC VALVE ( IT IS ON THE BACK OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD CLOSE TO THE THROTTLE BODY.) THERE IS TWO HOLES INSIDE OF IT W/ SCREENS OVER THEM I HAVE SPRAYED THOSE HOLES OUT W/ BRAKE PARTS CLEANER AND IT CORRECTED AN IDLING PROB. THEN I WOULD CHECK YOUR SPARK PLUG WIRES FOR ANY SMALL CRACKS IN THEM , MY MOMS CAR WAS DOING EXACTLY WHAT YOURS IS DOING AND THE SPARK WAS GROUNDING OUT ON A BOLT DUE TO A SMALL CRACK IN THE PLUG WIRE. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU REPLACED YOUR FUEL FILTER? SPARK PLUGS, WIRES , ?GOOD LUCK

The ECU stores codes until you a.) fix the problem and b.) reset the ECU.
Jump the service check connector and find out what code it's throwing.

From what you're describing, it's most likely your IACV.
Code 14, I think.

Otherwise it might be a few other things (i.e. vacuum leak..uncalibrated TPS)

I hate it when people yell in their posts.
For the sake of the sanity of everyone else on Honda-Tech, and for your sake too (because most other people here won't be so lenient), TURN OFF YOUR DAMN CAPS-LOCK, or be prepared to be flamed over and over again.

tried to check for codes put I think I'm jumping the wrong connector, there are 2 of them I tried both and the CEL only came on for a few seconds then went off no blinks or anything, the ecu is a p28, I had a p06 before but I dont thinkt hat would matter.
