Default crankshaft storage!!

Hi, I've just finished disassembled my engine for internal mods, and I have been told that I must put my crankshaft on the end (vertically) because it could change the shape of the crankshaft!!

i've searched on the net, and what i've found was that some people said this was a tale comming from the old V8 engine crank from the 60's or for HUGE rotating device used in the industry.

other said that new crank are too small and too stiff to have some changed in the shape, and that's for V8's, I4's are way smaller!!

If my thing is going slow it may takes me like 2-3 years to completly finish my entire project, but i'm expecting the engine finished in maximum 1½ year, and the crankshaft will be balanced and polished.

so do I have to put it on the top end or not??

Yeah, its pretty much a non issue with our cranks. But you might as well stand it up and keep it free from dust just to be sure.
