Default Is this the correct plug for the knock sensor?

While I was under the car earlier today, I tried to locate the knock sensor (had the code 23 since I bought the car with swap). And while I couldn't see it, I felt for where it should be and found a plug. I pulled the plug off and the rest of the wire came with it...wasn't connected to anything .

What I'd like to know is, is this the correct plug for the knock sensor on a B16A? There is a seperate piece that fits inside the plug that can be removed or attached (as shown in pictures).

TIA

That looks like a knock sensor that is broken. It needs to be replaced and make sure the wire to the pcm is in the correct pin in the connector shown because the knock sensor is a one wire connector.

So, are you saying that the brown piece is actually part of the knock sensor? And when you say pcm, you mean the ecu, right?

Right. The brown piece is part of the sensor. Sorry PCM/ECM same thing.
PCM- Automatic transmission control module and engine control module in one. (Powertrain Control Module)
ECM- Engine control module

I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but there's also a black/yellow wire coming out of the plug that's cut. Do you have any idea why?

Alot of sensors have the same connectors and that connector was off another sensor. Just be sure the wire you use contacts the pin in the knock sensor.

If I use the same plug, but get a new knock sensor, this shouldn't be a problem, should it? Thanks again for all of your help.

It should be fine as long as you use the correct wire on the connector.

I'm still not following. Here's what I plan to do, so maybe you could let me know is this is the correct procedure:

1. Pull out old knock sensor, get new (used) knock sensor and install it

2. Plug same plug (one in picture) into the new knock sensor

3. Thread the wire into the passenger footwell area and connect it to the correct pin on the ECU. According to Hondata, it's B19 for my ECU (PW0).

Sound good. What I am talkin about though, is the connector you have is a 2 wire connector. The knock sensor has only 1 pin on it. Be sure that the wire you use in the 2 pin connector matches up to the 1 pin in the knock sensor. Or just take the 2 wires at the connector and connect them together to make one wire to go to the ECM. Follow?

Yes, I do. In regards to wiring it at the ECU end, do you happen to know where I route the wire? This is a 90 CRX that I bought with the swap (so I didn't do wiring) and I'm unsure where to route the wire through the firewall?

Also, when I remove the knock sensor, do I need to drain the coolant first?

Thanks.

no need to drain the coolant. As for the routing, I don't know because I have never done one before.
