some people want to insure proper seal, ive used it on a few cars and some cars i havent, people have their different opinions, my opinion is you don't really need it, sometimes when i pulled the head off my engines that ive torqued the heads down and reused the headgasket, i spray it on there

earl said, he would use it on Surfaces that had not been machined to a smooth finish. So that’s like gospel to me, if I don’t have both the block and head decked then I use it.

On customers stock engines I dont use it. On turboed engines I peel each layer apart and use a thin coat on each.

agreed i only think that it should be used only when both surfaces haven't been decked. I don't think otherwise it can do any harm.
