Temp may not be high enough to open t-stat yet, or the t-stat is installed wrong or broken.

i just drove it around again and the temp got to almost halfway and again upper/hot---lower/cold..someone told me to take the radiator cap off and watch to see if water flows when the thermostat opens(if the thermo works)also the top of the rad was hot and the bottom cool i dont know if that matters.could it be the water pump?what do you peeps think?

It still seems to me that it is a thermostat problem.

Hi there, i would suggest bleeding the cooling system first, possible u have air trapped in the system. Did u bleed the cooling system? Open the bleed until air bubbles stop coming out, or run the car with the rad cap off until the cooling fan cycles. The thermostat is open when the lower rad hose is hot and u can see flow in the radiator. Good Luck, lemme know how it goes!
