Default Cooling fan dosn't turn on? overheating

Ok, so my cooling fan isn't turning on. I blew my cooling fan fuse a few months ago because I had a wrench loged in there my mistake! Now that i replaced the fuse, I thought everything would be ok. But the car overheated a bit today. I check the cooling fans, and the main fan wasn't turning on. When I turn the AC on, both kick on and the car cools off. Also, when I drive, the temps come down so the thermostat is open and ok. I also checked the cooling fan relay. It clicks.

Any thoughts???

How high did the gauge get? It's supposed to go up a bit before the fan switches on.

Jumper the fan switch, see whether that switches the fan on. If so, the rest of the circuit it OK leaving (probably) a bad fan switch.

It went about 3/4 up the gauge, way too high. I also looked at the temp via my laptop and Hondata. 224F Too hot!

Where is the fan switch located?

Usually on the thermostat housing. But that depends on what year/model you're talking about.

224 degrees isn't really that hot for a 4-banger. Remember that 4 cylinders have to work a bit harder than v6's or v8's and usually run a bit hotter. And like Jim said, your temp has to get to a certain level b4 the fans kick in. If you run down the highway alot, ur fans wont even kick on, but will in slower areas like city streets.

Ya, the fans turn on at 200 in my lude. and I cought the temp at 224, it was rising fast, so it was a problem. I was idling.

But All is fixed now. temp switch.
