Default Coolant Temperature Sensors - 91LS and 95LS - Do they operate the same??

I posted this in the Integra forum but have not received any answers... lets see if anyone in the tech forum can answer my question.....

Hi gang,
I am putting a 95LS engine into a 91 integra. It is going good so far but I have run into a problem where the coolant temperature switches to turn on the fan are different for both engines. The sensor on the 91LS engine is located in the back of the block above the oil pressure sensor, and the sensor off of the 95 engine is located in the thermostat housing.

They are different threads and I can't just put the 91 sensor in where the 95's sensor is. Also I can't find any metric fitting adaptors anywhere in this city. So my question is if the 2 sensors operate the same way. Do they both just open the circuit at a certain temperature? If so I am sure I can just rewire the harness to use the 95 sensor.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
