Coolant Problems
today i put a D-Series back in my civic (use to have a B-Series, but thankx to Hasport cable to hydro conversion. IT FELL OUT). i hooked up all hoses, coolant, oil, etc. . i put all the liquids in, oil, coolant, and trans fluid. run the car for a lil bit and the engine starts smoking like it is over heating. the temp gauge stays in the middle. i thought it might be the thermostat, so i went and squeezed the hose. all hoses are full wit fluid but one. the one on the bottom of the radiator leading to the thermostat is empty. even the hoses behind the thermostat is full wit coolant and hot. but that hose is empty. do u think i didnt bleed it right? if so, how do i bleed a D-Series (on the B-Series u have the bleeder valve)?
there is also a small bolt right in front of the block on the top hose,
loosen it a bit and, slap the heater on full blast. let the engin idle for a bit as well and watch the flow come out of the bolt that u loosed to see that it flows out evenly, dont squeeze the top or bottom hose to speed things up, it just sucks more air in. tighten when done of course then finish filling the system.
