J32a motor is the best bet.
2002 tl type s manual transmission with the LSD tranny. Accord trans is same less the LSD. Be cool and do rear engine!!!

Yeah that tranny is pricey!!! accord 6speed is a good alternative and you can just add a lsd down the road after the wallet recovers. There was a complete j32a swap for $1500 locally not long ago and I wish I would have jumped on it because i have plans in the future for a j in my hatch but I will take the front frame rails out of another civic and graft them into the hatch area.

SO I decided I am going to do a J-swap. slowly. no rush my 2011 mazda is my daily.

I am so tired of these 4 cylinder *** engines. I wanted the F20B, until I found out I have to have a 700$ adapter plate to use my B tranny.

F that. J35 + turbo here we go.

Where can I make a build thread?

I plan on this :
J30-35 ( haven't decided which )
manual trans.
Borg warner S256SX ( big enough. run low boost like 5-8psi)
Tuned completely on E85.

I'm thinking about using the 03-07 accord 5 speed tranny. it is stupid cheap and the bell housing looks EXACTLY the same as the 6speed 03-07 v6 trans

within the next 4 months completion time.

Builds threads are all over. Be prepared to hack up your hood (which I think looks pretty stupid) as a trade-off.

Cervini's used t make a cowl hood that might fit.

I have a carbon fiber hood. I don't plan to hack it. if it don't fit i'm going hoodless.

well who knows, I might be able to make it fit and not have to chop my hood up at all.

besides this ISN'T my daily.

I'll see what I can do to salvage a hood.

a completely unrealistic suggestion. I don't have 10k$ that I want to drop into a damn civic.

plus I want to make it daily-able. not that it will be.

The V6 engine is tried and true. the swap is doable with parts at the ready.

it's reliable.

Rotoray + reliable = unicorns.

I've been considering doing that for a few months. Just gotta save up first. If I were to do it I'd go with a J32 and accord 6spd. As for the hood.. well there's a couple things you could do. You can get the hasport motor mounts and that gives you the option for either ground clearance or hood clearance, whichever you prefer, just adjust the mounts. I'd probably go with ground clearance even though I hate the idea of having no hood or cutting it out. I want to keep it more of a sleeper and not attract unwanted attention. Just fabricate a scoop into your hood or bump, worth it imo. Even better would be to keep the clearance for the hood but I doubt it would be enough to comfortably drive around with. But at least you have the option to try it out. And I'd go for the j32a2. Might need a different intake to make more clearance for the hood. I'd guess it would all total out to about $3k. Now a really fun and unheard of project would be an acura tl sh awd swap. Not sure how you could ever afford it let alone find the parts without buying the entire car. Maybe someday in the future it will be done

I'm considering using the hasport or innovate mounts. both allow for movement and fitting.

I am having a really tough time deciding on J30, J32 or J35. They are all priced really well, with the J30 being the cheapest. however, I don't find a lot of information online about how well they handle boost.
I'm sure the J35 + about 6-8psi out of a S200SX would be a solid 350+hp. I really am thinking J35.

but the thing I like about the J30 is that it can rev quite high for a v6.

Not sure about the capabilities of the J32. although everyone says pick it lol.

Engine : 400$ Shipped
Tranny ( I FOUND SOME CHEAP! ) 850$ shipped
Mounts : 350-550$
axles 400$
ecu, wiring, etc : 500$

I'd say median 2500-3k

but I am going a step further and turboing mine on top. already have a tuning solution, intercooler, some piping, etc. once the engine is in, just gotta fab up exhaust and such.

I don't know where you're getting these ridiculously low prices from. Must be from that shop that has no name or telephone number on the building.

From your suggestions of gauges, I highly doubt you have the knowledge to even put the motor in. How's that for some insightful post??
