confusing compression issues

confusing compression issues(yes im stupid)
Don't laugh at me, i'm still new. How does raising the compression of a engine help? I want to build a All motor g2 teg. so what engine should i go with: b16-ctr pistons, b18c-ctr pistons, or itr?
