Default ???Confused about the gauge cluster???

Ok when you get an engine swap with about 30k miles on it... does your gauge speedometer set automatically to 30k? or does it stay at what the previouse engines milage? Im plannen on buying this guys shell, but there isnt a guage cluster... but when i do get one, how do i set the cluster to 30k w/o it being illegal (for rollbacks)

I don't think there's a way in which you could set the cluster back (unless you do a rollback) The speedometer doesn't set itself back automatically, it stays that way. It doesn't really matter as long as you take note of the actual mileage in your motor. And unless you plan on selling your hybrid soon, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I just replaced my d16 on my Si. My speedometer reflects 57,XXX miles but the engine itself has about 103,XXX miles. I just recet my counter and take note of the additional mileage that way.
