Default computer chip auto to manuel conversion?????

i was lookin at some stuff on ebay for my 95 ls teg, and came across a chip for a p75 ecu. the company claims no speed gov, 8500 redline, enhances fuel and timing, and that it can change an auto ecu to a manuel. my question is how is that possible???? i ask cause i need an ecu, and i can get a auto for pretty cheap. is this something thats ok to do??

no that is not a good idea. mostly because the chip will make you run rich killing your mileage and shooting clouds of black smoke out the exhaust when you get on it. i dont think you can convert your ecu to manual without some other work. a chip alone wont do it.

i think you have to send the ecu to have the auto to manual conversion.

The Mugen/Skunk2 clones and possibly other bootleg tuner ROMs do not have the automatic code, so they will essentially make an Auto ECU run Manual with no codes. That is a poor way do this though. If you have a soldering iron you can convert the auto ECU to manual by removing two resistors and installing a jumper. A 5 minute job.

OBD1 auto-manual conversion
remove RP17 and RP18 (located just below the chip)
install jumper in RP18.
