Seems kinda low...

the ones I've tested are all 215+ (unless my tester sucks...)

At least they're pretty consistent.

The motor is 2nd gen and 185psi is brand new compression so how you figure 215psi+ ..... b16a don't have that much of compression....

or maybe my compression tester is off then ....

those numbers are good. I dont know why people are getting such high readings off thier cars. You can calculate CR from PSI, and if what everyone is saying is true, they are running 11:1 or so. Doesnt make sense to me. Anyway, your sompression numbers are fine.

My guess would be that our older motors have carbon build up. 185 is fine... conistency is most important.

I just pulled my head tonight because of a funny noise throughout RPM range.
I did a compession test and here what I got .

#4=215
#3=215
#2=215
#1=120
So the head comes off I coulnt see any piston to valve contact and the block looks great. Any ideas. The head is going to be pressure tested Thurs in my day off I really hope it is the head (valves). and not the block.

By the way it is a JDM b18c Turbo
If you guys would like theorize on my situation be my guest.(2 heads are btter than one)..
Thanks

how can you calculate CR from the compression test results. I think that would be of interest to quite a few people, including myself.
