Default compression - anyone know what this will yield..

ok.. the motor is a 1998 Ls b18b.. we were planning on dropping in some ctr pistons but couldnt figure out what cr this would yield.. i tried asking around.. so far noone knows because hardly anyone has done this i suppose.. currently we're running a set of crower 403's with dual valve springs and titanium retainers.. but we plan on moving up to either the 404's or 405a's .. if anyone can help me with this .. i'd appreciate it.. any other suggestions would be kool also.. thanks..

ur Compression won't be in the 11's i know that. get JE's or Endyns with ur choice of CR.

with any kind of aggressive cam u want over 11points

Well on a GSR this setup yields about 11.6:1 cr. so in your case I would thik that it would be in the 11.X:1 range as well, but I am not sure. Hope this helps.

The CTR pistons should be finr in the b18b block we have that in a all motor street car and it runs very strong, yo might have to retard the timing alittle or get a thicker head gasket, but that would drop the compression. You should be fine with that set-up. GOOD LUCK!

thanks for the info.. you wouldnt happen to know the CR for that motor that you mentioned would you?.. see we were thinking of milling the head a bit if the CR wasnt atleast 11.0.1 ..

I get around 11.5. On a b18c1 the compression would be about 12.

CTRs in a GSR block and head yield about 12:5:1 compression
