well figured id put this here

ive heard many stories about the good ole comet trick in helping to re seat the rings and fix "smoking" this isnt something i really want to try but i had some guys bickering about it earlier and want to see what everyone elses opinions, experiences, and guidelines are with this trick. or even other recomendations towards curing the lovely smoke bug

i love hearing engine tales haha

This was an old trick to seat the very hard Chrome faced rings and will not work to seat a ductile iron or moly ring, it will destroy it! It will also NOT work to cure an engine with worn out rings that is smoking/burning oil!
