thats a good site, but im still a little confused, is there only one plug of each, hot and cold or do they have lots of different ranges of cold and hot plugs. I went to pepboys and they said that there was only one of each, vtec engines run cold plugs oem and non-vtec engine plugs being hot oem.

Generally you want to run the hottest plug that does not cause detonation.
Same thing with gasoline, lowest octane that does not cause detonation.

some thing to think about is this, the hotter it is the less oxygen there is in the air so you need a hotter plug to ignite the oxygen that is in the air. When it gets cooler go colder on the plug tempreture, because that the air is heaver and fuel as heavyer at night and need less fire to set off the combination. But also remember that when you use nitros you need to go colder because there is so much more oxygen in the cylinder. That is why you have to run more gas when you use nitros because of the extra O2 in the cylinder, plus the cylinder also cools way down.

Incorrect logic.

Plug heat range does not affect the intensity of the spark, unless it's either melting or fouling the plug.
