Default Code 9 prob....

I've got an EG w/1st gen B16 & OBDII harness and distributor. After having done the swap the car was running pretty well for about two - three months. Then, I made a trip down to Cali and broke down with my car throwing a Code 9 (CYP sensor). The car began to sputter around 4k rpms and after awhile it would die. I'd have to let the car cool and it would start again. I was guessing the CYP sensor or igniter got too hot in the dist. while driving thru Sactown. The solution was to swap in another CYP sensor but then that went out again. This time I just swapped in a distributor (thanks DP & Lu).

On my way back up to OR things went great. Even 3-4 months after that the car was running great. Then all of a sudden I was backing out of my driveway and I barely had any gas. I parked the car and the next day when I came to start it again it wouldn't start up. I filled it with gas, I had spark, could hear the fuel pump kicking on, etc...

A friend let me borrow a dist. and the car ran for about 4-5 miles then began sputtering/misfiring again. We got the car back home and began checking voltages through the distributor and I made sure the grounds were all tightened down on the mtr. Everything seems to check out alright. The car still won't start though. I tried my friends OBDII dist and the car ran pretty rough. Tried my distributor on his EG and his sputtered just like mine. So, with help of some friends we've narrowed it down to possibly being a ground wire throughout the wiring harness that isn't grounding. In other words allowing the sensors in the distributor to heat up right? I'm fairly new to electrical problems so I'd like people's input if they've dealt with stuff like this or had these symptoms from their cars. BTW, does someone have the HELMS pages for the grounds on the whole car? Do I have to check all of them or just the ones in the engine bay? Since the car has an OBDII harness for the mtr, which pages will I need outta the Helms? Please let me know, as always I appreciate the help.
