Default Code 63 (CEL) B18c1 swap in 96 dx

Anybody know what to do with this code?

I got a 99 b18c1 in my 96 dx. I had to wire the 2nd o2 sensor straight to the ecu. The code comes on within about 50 miles. Everytime I reset the ecu, the code goes away, but comes back after ~50 miles.

The code says - "Low or High Volatage / Slow Response"

I am running thicker gauge wire then the wires coming out of the ecu/sensors. I soldered all of my connections. I tried a hoooking the wires up differently, but get the same code.

If it makes a difference, I am using a primary o2 from the old d16y7 dx engine. Do I need to get the specific rear o2 sensor for a b18c1 or what?

Anything will help at this point, cause im tired of this.

its because you don't auto-x with me anymore.
If you did, then you wouldnt throw codes.

anyways, I think that it doesn't matter what kind of O2 sensor it is. I searched and it seemed that they said that it doesn't matter.

Good luck, you may have to get a new O2 sensor? Or check that wiring and sording again

(I went one month with a bad idle cause I think my IACV was wired fine. heheh it wasnt.)

hehe, Im NoT CrAzY.

Swapping an o2 sensor would be my guess. Hopefully it would fix the problem. But its hard to say, cause im assuming that the secondary o2 was from you DX right? Or did you get a new one with the swap?
Go back and double check your wiring. Do you have a Haynes manual? Get one if you dont. The check that wiring!

Ahh man, I dont know if I can make it to Oakland. I race in the sac chapter next weekend and 2 weeks after is our enduro! You should goto that, it certainly will be fun. I be careful. this hatch is crazy. wOoT

Hmmph, I got the 2nd o2 sensor from the dx engine. The wiring should correct, but if anyone would like to upload or direct me to another wiring diagram, I'd be all for it. Maybe the dx o2 sensors dont work, anybody else have this problem? Or maybe the o2 sensor is bad, and needs to be replaced. I dunno. Gotta change to another o2 sensor, and I'll get back to you. Hella busy tho, damnit.

Sac chapter eh, you traitor. Hit you up later meng.

Hey guys.........

I'm having the same problem in my 99 d16y7.... code 63

I've replaced both o2 sensors.... $$$$...... and still throwing codes.

I was told by an "iffy" mechanic that the two black heater wires, obd2b, are getting too much voltage. I swapped the ecu with a friend's and I'm getting the same codes. I was also told that after checking the ecu, the only other problem it could be is a short in the wiring from the ecu harness to the o2 sensor. Any ideas? Suggestions for me?

been throwing codes and running out of time....... emissions due in May

I know the feeling man...

Your problem gives me a clue not to get any more o2 sensors...lol.

Wonder what the hell is going on here.... someone has to know.
