Default Code 45. System too lean.

Can regapping the plugs down to 0.030in or removing the PCV valve cause this? This is the only thing i changed other than accidently swapping the 3 and 4 plug wires. The engine shock a little obviously, could I have caused some damage? I'm smelling what i think is gas or oil inside the cabin area. Thanks.

45 - System too lean/rich - Fuel supply system, Primary O2 sensor, MAP sensor, contaminated fuel, valve clearance, exhaust leakage.

Too rich because of unburnt fuel from cylinders 3 & 4?

Have often seen a code #45 with a failing oxygen sensor. Clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does, my money would be on the o2 sensor.

becuz he WANTS to be idiota non grata. fo shizlle.............and the code could very well be because u switched the wires- that def. give u unburned fuel..........thus- reset ur ecu, and if everything seems ok, and no more smell, then hehehheh.............u might wanna take the vacuum line of ur fpr also, cause that will cause it to run less rich and it will correct for a lean or rich conditin!

but if wires were switched the car probably wouldnt run, or run VERY poorly.
.030 is way low. it should be around .044
hell i know boosted hondas that dont run below .035

how can one know the gap size they have... I'm having an issue with my car (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=403309), and was wondering if this could contribute to it.

I had a failing primary O2 that eventually crapped out. Replaced it and the code vanished.

My girls car has that same code 45 and she has a 00 SI....all i did was put a CTR intake cam in and the code came up...so i put GSR cams in and the code still came up..then i put her stock cams in and it still comes up...And i reset the ECU about 15 time and it still comes up...So i just gave up...and it comes and goes.....so if anyone can give me a clue I thank you...

Thanks

just reset your ecu.. when you swapped the #3 and 4 plug wires. they didnt fire up and burn the mixture. the o2 sensor measures only oxygen content. so.. since it didnt burn.. the sensor should have read that there was too much oxygen even though it was mixed with fuel ..therefore throwing the code.

Well I gapped the plugs to .030inches cause i'm boosting. Is that the right or is it MM?
The ecu threw the code 1 1/2 days after i messed up the plug wires. The car only ran for 5 secs before i switched it off and found out what was wrong. I doubt that's why I threw a code.
I replaced the pcv valve and reset the ecu. I'll see if it comes back.
