Default code 22 -vtec pressure switch

my b16a2 is throwing a code 22 which means theres something wrong with the vtec pressure switch. the car still runs fine, there's just no vtec . i have checked the connector that goes to the vtec solenoid/switch and i do have continuity running through the plug. there's no voltage running through the wire that plugs into the solenoid/switch. so i looked at the wire and nothing seems to be wrong w/ the wire, like no damage done to the wire. at this point i dont have a clue to what could be making the ecu throw this code causing vtec to not engage. anybody have any ideas?

do you have oil in your car. The vtec system is hydraulically controlled, and if your low on oil this will happen
