Default Code 22, checked the voltage and continuity but...

I got a code 22 on my b18. I did the troubleshooting by checking for continuity and voltage readings on both the sensor side and harness side. Voltage was at 12 volts, and ohms were in the 16's. I also opened up the vtec solenoid to check for any clogging in the o-ring/filter, and checked if the little piston inside was working fine. I found little debris on the filter (and cleaned it promptly), and the piston worked freely.

Despite this, the ECU keeps on throwing the code 22. What should I do? What should I replace?

I'm pretty clueless right now...and I don't know if changing anything will help out since they seem to work fine.

have the same problem on a friends b16. i heard that tapping the blue signal wire into the green/yellow vtec siganl would solve the problem.

Did you check the continuity of the presure switch. It should be closed with the engine off.

I'll check the continuity with the engine off too. Thanks for that one.
I wasn't having any problems with my vtec...so I'm hoping my wiring is ok and I don't have to splice any wires together. Thanks for the input!

if debris makes it to the solenoid filter you have bearings that are about to fail.
either that, or you have less than 1 quart of oil in your car. if thats not the problem you have very low oil pressure so your vtec system isnt changing over, hence the 22. I would tear the block down NOW to save your crank.

thanks for the tip...i think i'm running low on oil. A warning light lit up when i took a pretty quick corner. I'm hoping its just the oil....but I will have the block torn down ASAP to check its condition.

if the light comes on it is falling less than 5psi... bro thats not good. around a corner or otherwise. the only thing you really need to do is two things in my view:
crank the motor to BDC so the rod caps are all lined up, pull and inspect them... doing this can save your crank, thats the biggest risk in damaging one of these motors, if the crank is spun you have to do alot of work to get it right. its almost worth spending the money to put a crank in a motor... so GSR @700 new... ITR at 1300 new... yea. bearings are a bare minimum expense in my view. if for anything else you can check the journals and see what colors you would need for a rebuild.

also, if the rod bearings show signs of wear... check the caps on the cams, remove them and check your head cam journals... if they go its a head replacement.
