code 16 - ELD - car wont start
i had this problem since i've had the car. about 8 months or so, its a 91 civic ls - 4dr. sometimes when you go to start the car, it wont turn over, it will turn and turn and some times start going real fast, but it wont start. and then it sometimes throws a code 16, and sometimes not. sometimes it will throw the code immediatly and sometimes not for a couple seconds. and i can hear the fuel pump relay not cliking too, but the light will go off after 2 seconds. and sometimes it will click. at first i thought it was the fuel pump relay, so i changed that. it went away and came back. sonce then i changed the dizzy and today the alt, cause it went back. so i turned the car off and then tried to start it again to make sure the batt got charges and this **** happens again. after asking it nicely and then swearing at it, it finally deceided to start.
do you guys hhave any suggestions. it gotta be something stupid cause its the electrical load detector. im baffled
Thanks

Maybe that's different for '95?? But even if it is the ELD, what's that got to do with the fuel pump relay? Or the distributor or alternator?? The ELD won't prevent it from starting.

JimBlake, swearing at recalcitrant machines is a successful repair technique, proven countless times over the past hundred years. When that doesn't work on my CRX, I resort to kicking it. Needless to say, the car knows not to **** with me.

But it usually doesn't work for me.
