Code 14 EACV...but EACV is within specs...
I just completed my b18a swap in my 89 crx. here's the problem. code 14. i tested the eacv, and it is within specs. i also ran new wires directly from the ecu to it to see if that worked, still didn't fix the problem. I've heard that maybe something like the coolant switch or soemthing is screwed up. Should i change my coolant temp sensor or coolant switch? This ~3500 rpm rev limit sucks. Please help.
What do you mean you tested the IACV and its within specs? What specs are these?
When you have the motor fully warm, and you pull off the 2p harness off the IACV, does the engine rpm drop or stall? If it does not do this, the IACV/EACV is bad. First step: Clean it out with carb cleaner(fixed my cel 14) or replace it.
Coolant switch(ECT switch, thermoswitch) wont throw a CEL. Im not sure why this is giving you a 3500 rpm limit either.
Bump for your assistance

damn...this really sucks. i do not know why i am getting this rev limiter then. i will try my friend's ecu to see if this fixes the problem, i guess. anyone else know what kind of things might give me a rev limiter that doesn't include the check engine light? someone please help!
hey...what if this ecu i have is an automatic ecu? would that do the trick? is there any way to tell in the code on the side of the ECU if it is for an automatic?
