Code 12 - EGR system with H22A into civic
hey, I just recently put an jdm H22A into a 93 civic coupe ex (ej1) and get check engine light,
I pulled the code and got code 12 which is the EGR system. I thought that JDM h22 p13's bypass this?? anyway of bypassing this code
I also have a very wavy idle
please help thanks

I have the same problem with my b16a still trying to figure it out. I have the wavy idle to. It only comes on sometimes but check engine light comes on it does a little funky idle. I swear i smell some gases in the car. But b16a don't have EGR valves so i'm clueless a little.
found the problem with the wavy idle, it's the throttle body gasket.
as for EGR, i'll run the check engine light till i get it chipped i guess
unless there is a way of bypassing

that light isn't gonna do anything to hurt performance so u really don't have to get it removed from the ecu. btw: yes jdm p13 does look for egr, mine does and i drive around with the light too.
I'm not gonna hook up the EGR and for some reason it's not throwing the code anymore. Very strange.
Although I do have a slightly bouncy idle when i start it up, then when i go, it launches very nicely but kinda 'bogs', as in needing to give it more gas then i should and still accelerates slow.
I am hoping that hooking the exhaust will fix the problem, we'll have to see.

The code is still there, it's just not lighting up the CEL any more. Pull the code again, you'll see it's still there.
You should hook the EGR system up, so the computer can run in closed loop mode.

ya I'm tempted to hook it up.
I also have a wavy idle and kinda idles like ****.
I have the idle screw in the TB all the way out to keep the motor alive.
plus the AIB isn't flexing at all
running in limp mode have anythign to do with that?
