Default CODE 1 and 9????

got a 92 sohc vtec ecu (p28) cel comes on after i drive car awhile. first code 1 = oxygen content. how do i fix this? i have a vafc do i richen it up a bit or something? i'm running a b16a das y maybe not enough feul from the sohc ecu? and code 9 = cylinder #1 position, what the hell is that? and how do i fix that???

Ok, your running a cable b16 engine in a an OBD1 equipped civic, right? Actually what year + model car do you drive? I'm guessing a 92-95 EG civic..

Code 1 is for 02 sensor, make sure that you're running an OBD1/4-wire 02 sensor. If you're using the 1st gen B16 02 sensor(s), that's not gonna fly, and that's why you'd get a check engine light for the 02 sensor.


Code 9 is being tossed because your camshafts/crank or something with your ignition is not set properly at TDC. Or you just might have something faulty in the distributor....possibly ignitor or coil...bBut i'm guessing something's up with TDC settings moreover. Did you install some camshafts or mess around with the timing belt at all recently?
