clutch/transmission problem
The vehicle is a 91 civic, with a b18a motor w/ cable b16a transmission.
For the past week or so Ive noticed a difference in feel in the clutch pedal as in theres more pedal freeplay. The engagment point (pedal on the floor coming back up) is almost instant, before there was a few inches, but theres now several inches of free play when pushing it down till engagment. Sort of like a low brake pedal type of feeling. Didnt really thing anything of it untill hell broke lose.
So about an hour ago on the highway, just getting up to speed, push the clutch pedal to the floor and hear this, "pop" sound. I can no longer put the transmission into gear without extremely excessive force and double clutching. I pretty much have to "launch" the vehicle from a stop or else the engine will just die. Now there is absolutely no pressure/resistance in the pedal. It stays above the floor but theres just nothing there. When i as just sorta "cruising" at around 30 mph or so in 2nd gear, when i put my foot on the pedal just to feel it, it was vibrating.
From a visual, the clutch cable is still in contact with the fork and such. I bet i expletiveed up something when i installed the clutch assembly ~4500 miles ago.
Im just guessing its going to involve removing the transmission from the engine to see whats wrong, but any guesses as to what gave out?
Edit: I wonder if its that bearing (pilot ?) that is connected to clutch fork disconnected itself or something, its the only thing that has any relation to the clutch cable itself.

are you going to do it yourself or take it to someone, my suggestion is either do it yourself if you know what your doing, or go to a small time shop and stay away from major companies like Cottman, who destroy your transmission

I'm going to do it myself. You would think the bigger companies would be better to go to since they would have a better warrenty. But of course, you dont want to come back for that warrenty with big jobs such as transmissions.

I hope its not the pressure plate, id assume id have to buy a whole kit if it was that. Unless i completely expletiveed up the install, i dont see how anything on the PP broke, especially with that low of miles.
