Default clutch problem

went to start my car this morning and noticed that my clutch was pretty much dead.....theres alot of play in it and its like as soon as i take a tiny bit off the clutch to go its engaging....theres not much pressure in it and its getting harder to go into gears......i checked the fluid and its full but its all black and nasty so i guess it could be that or could it be i need it adjusted? or could it just be going?

If the fluid looks really rotten, check the master & slave cylinders - one could be blown.
