does anyone know where i can buy or rent a ring gear holder that keeps the flywheel from turning when unbolting a bolt? can i rent this at kragen?
and another thing, i'm putting in my act six puck clutch. does it matter how the clutch was originally and do i have to bolt the new pressure plate and disc the exact same way according to a certain pattern or way the pressure plate was facing etc? thanks in adv.

you don't need that, just take a 6 inch, 3/8 extension or one of the original tranny bolts, screw or insert it into one of the many tranny bolt holes or the dowel pin holes, then insert the closed end of a wrench onto that and jam the open end into one of the three small prongs that stick out on the circumference of the flywheel in a direction that it will hold it from moving while you unbolt. be careful when you unbolt the last one because a 15lb iron plate dropping on you or your hand hurts, i know.
Good thinking 8ball - I just used a big screwdriver wedged against the transmission and stuck it in the teeth of the flywheel to keep it from turning.
Have fun bro !

oh yeah, do i have to put my act clutch on to match how the stock clutch was originally patterned against the flywheel? because in the manual, it says to mark the original clutch where it's marked X or O to the flywheel. is this true?
so, let me get this straight, as far as the tranny bolt or extension with a wrench...so you insert the closed end of the wrench ( the end with of the wrench with a hole at the end) IN the tranny bolt or extension. then clamp the open end of the wrench ( the end where you can open and close the jaws) on to any three of the teeth of the flywheel? if that is the case, wouldn't that spin the wrench when you turn the flywheel?
thanks again for all your guys' help. very innovative and creative ideas that i never would have thought of.
[teary eyed and in a weeping voice] because of you guys...i can continue with my project. as a tribute to all of you guys, i'll pull 12's... thank you.
