Default Clutch Help - Mad Shaking

I bought a 94 civic coupe with a B18b1 and a GSR tranny. I was told that the clutch was a clutchmasters stage 3, and that it had an 11 pound flywheel. This could be BS, I don't know.

I've been having problems when shifting into first and second. The clutch grabs really hard. When going into first gear, the car shakes like crazy, and shifting into second is usually pretty violent. The strange thing is that some days the clutch feels fine. Still really aggressive, but smooth with no shakes. Other days, it seems like there's no way to keep it from shaking.

I was going to intall a stock clutch to get rid of this problem, but I just wanted to post first to see if anybody here has any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the clutch you have may be over kill, Maybe its not in good shape.....either way it soundsl like your going to have to drop the tranny to find out whats in there and in what condition

Would the flywheel have anything to do with the chatter?
I'm wondering if I should get it resurfaced?
I've never swapped a clutch, so this is kinda new to me.

cool Thanks for the help.
I'm gonna swap the clutch and resurface the flywheel. Hopefully that'll do it.

Also, check for rear main seal leaking oil onto the clutch surfaces..
This, too, can create the symptoms you describe.

I think you're right about the oil. The longer I drive, the worse the clutch gets.
My oil pan is always covered in oil. I think it's just an oil pan gasket leak. Could this also cause the symptoms?
