Default Clutch cable problem after swap...

Last night on the way home i was getting off of the highway coming up to a light...when i pushed in the clutch to take it out of gear the pedal went straight to the floor with NO resistance. I got out and looked at it and it wasnt broken or anything...i couldnt really tell what caused it to do that. The cable was really loose so i adjusted it down some and it worked fine. Well this morning on my way to work it did the same thing...so i got out and adjusted it down as far as it can go...it worked well enough to get me home. I havent really looked at it since then. I have a 90 CRX with a 92 b18a. Im using a shortened DX cable. Its almost like i adjust it then it slowly pulls back down the more i use it. What can be the problem? Thanks

Sean

How did you shorten the cable? I sounds like something is just slipping. It was on a very different car, but I had the end of a failing clutch cable start 'slipping' for quite a while before it actually broke. It acted like the cable was stretching for a while before it broke.

The stock Si cable works, and I even bought the 91 Integra one for mine, it worked ever so slightly better.

I have my old Si cable laying around. If you want I can ship it to you for the low low. Perfect shape, no weirdness when pulled in the sheath by hand.

Make an offer. I think new cables are $60ish, so $30 +shipping?

I running the 91 integra too and works fine. If you don't have the cable adjusted enought the pedal tends to stay on the floor like the spring on the clutch fork doesnt push the pedal back up, but once you get it adjusted correct it then works. mine is about 1 inch from the top which is 1 inch shorter than the longest the cable can be.
