Default Clutch!

My car isn't a honda, but a clutch is univeral problem and this place has the numbers to post up fast.

My clutch slipped pretty bad today. I was going up this hill a little bit in first gear, then I put the throttle about 3/4 the way down at 3500 rpm, and the rpms shot straight up without much speed increase at all. My car has only done this once and that was a back to back race over a year ago. Do you guys think its time for a new clutch? I didn't smell any burning, but I know it slipped. It wasn't traction problems either, at least I don't think.

That would be my first instinct...I'd check that first. Sounds like you've answered your own question

Yeah, but is this a sure sign that I need to replace it? I'd like it to last me through college. I mean it was under some load. Going up hill in first gear, then putting it down puts an awful lot of pressure on it. Just a few weeks ago I was able to get a pretty good 2nd gear scratch out of it.
