Default Clutch on a 2004civic

Can anyone tell me what these two metal shards are wedged inbetween the fingers on the diaphragm spring?







whatever it is, it cause my pressure plate to fail and i couldnt dissengage the clutch.

must have been driving the car pretty hard to snap them out like that.. happen to some people i know... but their **** snaped way out and was laying at the bottom of the tranny..
