Default Closed Deck Honda block??

Recently a friend purchased a B16A block on ebay. The block code hasn't been altered in any way, but he ordered pistons for it and a crank for it and it don't fit. Supposedly it has not been touched and is totally stock. (ebay i know is not exactly the most trustworthy place). and the crank counter weights hit inside the block. It's solid (closed) deck, is there any such thing as a closed deck B16 stock?
Also we ordered pistons for this motor and in checking the ring gap we noticed it was .009 what is up with this strange engine?

b-series blocks are all open deck; some pics of the crank/block would help identify..

The only "reasonably common" closed deck Honda 4 banger's are the early H22's. Definately provide us with some pics.

B20a (prelude) were closed deck I believe. But your B16 may have a block guared in it.Maybe the crank you ordered is wrong?

I'll post pics tomorrow cuz I have school and work today. I 'm pretty sure it's not block guarded. Now he tried putting the (b16)pistons in it and you can literally shake them side-to-side in the cylinder walls.
