Default Clearing system errors

I've found out that merely disconnecting the battery will not clear the system entirely of all errors. Would a check oil error in the system be erased by resetting the ecu? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes the error would be erased if you pull the battery for 10 full seconds.

If you are pulling it for 10 full seconds then, you have not solved the problem and the ECU sees that.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've fixed the oil problem, but I just don't want any history of it on my car's computer. I don't want it getting me in trouble later on down the road.
