Default Cleaning a disassembled head?

I've got the head off of my Integra to swap valvesprings and it's very oily. Is it safe to clean it with Simply Green and water or do I have to hot tank it?

use whathever you have there, you don't have to hot tank it.Just make sure you blow it off realy good before you try and torque the head back on the block because if any (cleaner/oil/thinners/varsal) gets in between the head and the gasket your gona have a innacurate torque.innacurate torque means the first time you hit the trotle your gona RIP your head bolts right out of your block.THEN YOUR FUCKED. also don't use alot of oil on your head bolts or they will hydro lock.Alright.

The 2 easiest ways are either hot tank it or take a 5 gal. bucket fill it up with some solvent (or gas) and let it sit over night then just wipe the gunk off and spray it down with some brake clean
