Default Cleaning D16z6 Head....

What is the best way to clean this up?? I plan on completely disassembling the head first, but what should i use/do to get the surface rust off?? Will a strong degreaser do it, or should i try something heavy duty?? thanks and heres the pic:

p.s. my friend left it outside for a while...

Get a gallon of carburator cleaner(like $25 or so) and use a plastic tub and put the head in that.. Then dump the carb clearer on the head and start scrubbing with a tooth brush.. You should tear down the head all the way and remove the valves for cleaning.. Your also going to need new valve seals since the cleaner will eat them away, but it kinda looks like you would need new ones anyway..
