Default clanking noise in my VR6

my Golf GTI is making a slight clanking noise if i'm going slow and turn the wheel to the left or right. it only happens every few seconds. anyone know what i can be? It sounds like its coming from under the car.

Could be a binding swaybar endlink, dying tie rod, or the beginnings of a CV joint failure.

Check the boots and suspension play.

car has bilstien shocks, nuespeed sway bars and nuespeed race springs. I already had someone check the cv joints before i bought the car, so i don't think its that.
