Default Civic oem distributor cap

i need help on my distributor cap, ive replaced it 3 times and the contact caron rod inside keeps braking for no reason, i bought the car like this and have carefully set the new one in , but after a while the new ones contact carbon rod still breaks for no apparent reason. Can you help? could it be a foreign object loose inside, a coil that is loose, cap that is lose, or is it an electrical problem that snaps the carbon piece in two?....thank you any help from experts would help

check the TEC where the rod goes in and make sure nothing is jamed inside. Is it braking when you take it back out or when you put it in and it jsut snaps? Are you putting the cap on at an angle??? make sure its srait with the dizzy and then put it in. Ive had that happen before.

On my Civic, I had the distributor rotor break twice. I replaced the cap once in between and it did not make a difference. Eventually, I replaced the entire distributor with a different one and the problem never returned. I think the shaft was slightly bent on the bad distributor that I replaced.
