So this weekend my friend took off my valve cover and painted it..and when I went to put it back on i noticed that the bolts were broken and wouldnt screw back in because more than half of the bolt was stuck in the engine, and the engine oil ended up leaking out (all of it) so I had to get it towed to my mechanic I was heated..now my mechanics saying I might need a new header if he cant get the bolts out which doesnt make sense to me but whatever but then he said itd be about $1700 which also makes no sense because I could get a brand new DC Sports header for about $300...no way labor is 1400 lol can anyone explain any of this to me? Maybe Im wrong thinking that all this doesnt make sense.

I don't understand how your buddy didn't notice the broken bolts.
I don't understand how you didn't notice the broken bolts before you put the cover back on.
I don't understand why you need a new header.
I don't understand why you didn't ask him why you needed a new header and went ahead to justify pricing out a new header anyways when you didn't even understand why you need a new header.
The answer is simple. Duct tape everything.
