anyone every use this in a 00' D16Y8? If I use this ECU will it make my car OBD1? The ecu they want to sell me is "chipped" with a 5300rpm VTEC, adapter harness, 9100 rpm redline, agressive ignition maps, and fuel maps?? What will this do to my car's drivabillity? Thanks.

 

it is not a straight plug in.
you have to do some rewiring.

better fuel curves and vtec crossover. it will also eliminate 2nd o2 and crank sensor

 

yes and no. if you do a little rewiring to convert your motor to obd1 then it will but if not, its a semi obd2 to obd1 conversion.

 

I don't know what these guys are talking about, but if you use a P28, from a pre-96 car, it's ODB-1 which means your car will be OBD-1 and will also mean you are no longer street legal.

If they said it includes and adapter harness then no re-wiring is necessary.

 

No longer street legal? what if my cam gear is advanced or retarded? is that street legal? As long as I pass emissions, I will be happy. I can take the OBD1 out and put back in the OBD2 for the test.
