Default What do you guys think of this header?

Imported from the land of Japan. 4-1 header but the length of 4-2-1 Special design for b20/vtec or any high output engines (2.5" collector size). We also have b16/b18c version (2.25"). Sorry for the background...I had to take it from my messy bed We're selling it @ retail $395. Think it's a fair price since all the 4-1 header are retail @ $450. You guy think it's worth the invest? all comments are welcome!

well, we had to do it that way to bolt right on to the stock exhaust. Remember..this is for street us, not SMS sidewa headers On a stock b18c motor..we were able to squeeze 14whp and 8lbs of torque (on the 2.25 one that is). Haven't test the b20/vtec one yet...but as long as we get 10+ whp off it..I think it's well worth the money. Christian Gains (cpgains here I think) is offering to test on his b20/vtec. going to put up against all the headers we can come up with. Also Jose is going dyno test this header too so we'll see how it goes

from what you say it apparently works well on stock setups.
i'd like to see it on a REAL b18c

The SMS street header I tested made about 10 more peak and about 20 more
midrange over a spoon header on a built b18c

well, like i said..you'll never know how this thing can do

wow..SMS street header got 10 more peak and 20 more over spoon? hehe...but for retail 395 vs. what? 800 sms? as long as we can equally power or close to it...i will be satisfy.

Remember, this is design for street use. That's why we shorten the header so it won't scrap as well as making the installation easier I'll show ya when you come here to tune my car

to the untrained eye (me) i looks just like the DC SS...

is yours stainless also. would it be avaliable in a non shiny finish for b20vtec. that one looks beautiful but i am not interested in
shinyness(sp). do you happen to know what kind of #'s the DC makes?

actually..we have 2 version. stainless (shiny) and just straight up melt-steel (bit lighter). Personally..I like the melt-steel better but more people are into go/show than straight up go you know? Price wise...same price! (unlike dc) As for the difference...don't all 4-1 headers look the same? it's the matter of bending that's seperate headers. Ours are big shorten than the traditional 4-1 simply because we know how it feels to spend tons of money on headers and end up scrapping the crap out of it. It's more street-use friendly and of course..after dyno..we will know how well it works on midified engines (since we only tested on stock engines so far)

haha...we have 20 (testing) coming in. 10 b20/vtec design and 10 for b16/b18 engines. I'll see how the demand is and figure if I can lower more price (aka I have to talk to my partners since I'm not the only owner).

I dont know whatlength has to do with ground clearance.
The SMS header has the best ground clearance out of every header i have ever
seen since it goes under the pan 4 wide rather than 2x2. As far as length with
fitment, i would rather modify the exhaust to gain power instead of ease of
installation. but thats me i spose.

What's the most comment problem that people have w/ 4-1 headers? Lack of ground clearance and radiator clearance. We design something that gives the max ground clearance and not touching the fan. See..different people have different perspectives. I too would go thru. the troubles just so i can get more power..but some of us aren't that hardcore nor mechanically challenged. And if this header can match the power that sms, toda, spoon, or any top headers out there produce...would you give it a shot?

you mean the fake honda oem 4-1 headers that people buy here? something i don't understand is that the oem header cost like 700+ in japan but once it go over seas..it becomes 400 and still oem...funny ain't it?

we're actually coming out w/ light weight exhaust to match the b20/vtec header (2.5 pipping). Also many other stuff for hondas. It's all in the works
