Default To Chip or Not to chip?

I have the car in sig (93 ex auto). I have done all i can to bolt on more power to this thing, and it's all rightly quick, but it's a dog with the air on, on a hot day. I am going to get a high flow cat (aka gut mine) and see if that helps. But what does a chip do for the d16? Im used to my mustang. Is it worth it on a honda? If so which brand? how much will it help? If i have to spend the 200 bucks i will, this thing needs more pep. ANy one have expierence? Adam

Stick a manual tranny in there and you'lll get more pep than any chip on the market. Of course it will cost much more and be a big pain in the *** to do. If thats not an option I would say have someone burn you chip that best fits your needs, and your setup. I don't know anyone who burns auomatic chips though so I would be no help on that one.

Most chips are generically programmed and not worth the money.

bump, anyone know what a 5 speed will chip do for an
auto? will it still read the stock transmission control since the chip wouldn't change it?

I personally have never heard of an automatic chip. I would imagine it can be done or there is someone out there who has done it before.

Don't chip it unless you plan on dyno tuning it. My friend got a chip for his B18C-R swap from Kenji. He said untuned it ran rich as ****, but after tuning, he laid down 184.9whp with i/jdm header/e/vafc/chip.

Kenji is a member on this board, look him up and ask him what he can do for you.
