Default Checking Bearings

Last time I changed my mobil1 I noticed what looked like brass flakes in the oil. So if I want to check the condition of the bearings on my crankshaft would there be any harm in taking them out to inspect...Of course everything would go back exactly where it came from and torqued properly.

Default Re: Checking Bearings (RewSiR)

If you know what your doing, there will be no bad side effects. If you dont know what you are doing, you can seriously damage your motor. Also if the bearing do need to be replaced, they are not cheap. Always buy Honda bearings. Never buy aftermarket. They are special order parts also. Make sure that you torque them properly, and if you replace a bearing, make sure you plasti guage it.
