LOL! There is some truth but most of the comparisons are comedic at best.
Here's my favorite: "305 horsepower is more than 195 horsepower, no matter what the engine's displacement." ROFL.
The whole article is obviously written out of anger. Some Civic must have handed him his ***.

I like the fact that two of the cars he compares in his HP/L section used the same turbo engine. Of witch the heads and DOHC valve train were designed by Lotus. The last I looked anything that came off the boat from Brittan was still considered an import....Maybe not Honda but they weren't domestic. Failure No's 1 & 2
And the W41 DOHC was a massive failure, it only lasted for 2 1/2 production years. I had the great opportunity of having one in my family. You could set a calendar by when the head gasket was going to go on it..... I'm pretty sure we had it replaced at least 4 times in the 5 years we owned the POS..... all under warranty......... yeah that's reliable power for sure. Not to mention that it was put into an Olds Achieva that was a land yacht of a car. It barely got out of it's own way with this powerful Quad4. Failure No.3

I like the comparison between N/A Honda 100hp per liter and the turbo dodge 2.2L.
If you cant make 100hp per liter with forced induction you need to go suck on your exhaust pipe!

did anyone notice in the chart at the bottom that it says our engines have aluminum sleeves that must be replaced with cast iron?...although he is right, it is considerably cheaper to get a V8 to make 500hp......
Oldsmobile W- 41 Quad 4
Another American example is the famous Oldsmobile W-41 Quad 4 engine from 1991-1992. That bad boy made 190 hp and 165 ft. lbs. of torque with no turbo! The math only works out to 83HP per liter, but the Honda Si 1.8 liter that makes 100 HP per liter only has 180 HP.
never knew you could buy a Honda Si (usdm of course)1.8 liter, where have i been shopping.
