Alright, I plan on going to the drag stip next week to test out my new header, to see if it was worth it or not. But i have a question, that nobody seems to know the concrete answer to. And i sure dont, cuz i havnt tried it.
I have a 98 ITR which is ob2, i want to know if I will throw a cell if i run open header at the track or not?? Common sence tells me yes, because the secondary O2 sensor is not connected. But ive been hearing that people are running open header on the track, and ive been getting mixed answers from people, and now I'm confused too.
And if i do throw a cell, ive also been hearing that I'll go into "limp" mode, and my car wont be operating at full potential.
I need to stop listening to the stupid *** people in my town
TIA

You will get a code 67, but it probably won't come on immediately. The Honda/Acura ECU's have a "trip memory" that won't trigger a major CEL until the problem persists for something like 3 trips.
It shouldn't hurt performance any and if it does come on, you can just reset the ECU to temporarily kill it.

Here is the answer you seek. If you leave the secondary o2 plugged into the harness and let it read fresh air. You will NOT throw a code. Just mount it somewhere safe.
