Open Header Question
If we unbolt the cat from the header, will we get a CEL? I'm planning on running open header at the 1/4 mile track weds. If we get a CEL, will our car run in safe mode? tia
yes but who cares if it is on for only one night. End of the night, put everything back and reset the ecu...cha ching, back to normal.
Don't forget to unplug the O2 sensor before dropping the cat or you might damage with wiring.
If it was me, I wouldn't bother cause of lazy factor. You won't see huge gains. You'll probably see more gains taking off your accessory belts and light weighting your car.

The CEL for not having a second O2 sensor won't affect your car.
I had to run an open header on the street once. That was embarrassing. I'd take a fart exhaust over that anyday.
